This Privacy Policy explains how Ahead Notes ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects information when you visit aheadnotes.com (the "Site") or sign up for our email newsletter.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the email address you choose to give us when you sign up for our newsletter. We do not ask for your name, phone number, address or payment details.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically process basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type and the time of your visit) in server logs, for security and to keep the Site running. We do not use this data to identify you.
2. How we use your information
- To send you our newsletter and occasional updates you asked for.
- To keep a record of your consent and honor unsubscribe requests.
- To keep the Site secure and working.
Our legal basis under the GDPR for sending the newsletter is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
3. Email service provider
We use Klaviyo, Inc. to store email addresses and send our newsletter. Klaviyo processes your email address on our behalf and under our instructions, as a data processor. Our emails may include standard open and click measurement provided by our email service so we can see whether messages are delivered and read.
4. Unsubscribing
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at hello@aheadnotes.com and we will remove you promptly.
5. We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the newsletter (such as our email provider and web host), or if required by law.
6. Cookies and tracking
The Site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, tracking pixels or third-party scripts. Only strictly necessary technical functions are used to deliver the pages and process your sign-up.
7. Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may keep a minimal record so we do not email you again, and delete the rest within a reasonable period.
8. Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct or delete it;
- withdraw consent or object to processing;
- receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
- know what categories of information we collect and how we use them (California residents);
- opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it);
- not be treated differently for exercising these rights;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Children
The Site and newsletter are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we will delete it.
